The measurement and calculation of zinc content in zinc sulfate
Rech Chemical Co., LTD generally supplies
our customers with 33% zinc sulfate monohydrate and 21.5% zinc sulfate
heptahydrate. We often receive some customers’ inquiry how does the zinc content
come out?
The content of zinc in zinc materials
is measured and calculated in EDTA coordination titration method. The main theory
is that zinc sulfate solution is added with ammonium fluoride and potassium
iodide (It may be added Oxidation hydrogen oxidation to remove ferric iron impurities
and the interference to zinc content). Under PH 5~6 conditions,
the solution is titrated with Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid. It’s indicated by xylenol orange that the color changes from magenta to lemon yellow.
At last, we can get the zinc
content of zinc sulfate through EDTA standard titration measurement and quality
score (%).
